Wheelwright

For this reception I was hired to setup the backdrop and provide direction for the layout of the room. Several other pieces of mine were rented as well.

This bride was great to work with. Her taste was simple yet glamorous. Using a sheer gold glitz fabric in the backdrop was just enough to make it sparkle. Again using the aisle way markers draped with fabric helped showcase the bride the minute guests walked in.
Arranging the columns in two rows with fabric draped seperately for each row, helped create depth and allowed the backdrop to stand out from the walls. The varied colors of fabric incorporated all the colors she loved without having the expense of flowers.
This item was rented and used in the gift area for a surface to set gifts or cards on.

The 3' column makes for great arrangements and filler decor in so many different places. Here it was also used in the gift area.

This open house I worked primarily with the mother of the groom. She was looking for something semi-formal yet fun inviting.

The wedding party was a fair size and would be standing in a receiving line for most of the open house.

The colors were chocolate brown, lime green and pink. By adding little details, I was able to create a fun look that encouraged conversation amongst the guests. Adding an assortment of chocolates was definately one of the favorite details.

The guest table was not in the same room of the reception so I brought some of the same details from the reception area out.

Being that chocolate was such a big part of this reception, for party favors I had individually wrapped truffles. This was an open house and they decided against a real wedding cake. However the favor cake was a focal point of the room.

This reception was for my darling neice Audrey. Audrey was married in late November and chose for her colors navy blue, white and silver. I was worried that this would look too wintry for November but she and her fiance REALLY wanted this. (He being a big sports fan, his school colors were blue, white and silver) So I was up for a challenge, how to keep this reception from looking like a winter wonderland or a cruise ship dinner. She was also very clear to the style. She wanted simple, clean and modern. I found these requirements a bit of a challenge. I worked very hard to find a design that she would LOVE and I did. Because of the challenge, and the unique style, this definately has been one of my favorites!

I did a dropped ceiling and used all uplights.

Silver tiebacks, and an offset silver ribbon on top of a blue sheer overlay. Sticking with linear elements throughout the room.

Using aisle runners to define the entrance and pointing the guests to the bride and groom.

Centerpiece of wheatgrass and white day lillies. The centerpiece sat offset of center as well. Maintaining a clean decor was a favorite among many guests. One guest requested that I transport everything and travel 3 hours for her sons wedding.

The bride was wonderful to work with. She had a very clear vision for the reception. Her fiance shared a passion for life and vibrant personality. The color choices reflected their personalities perfectly.

The backdrop wasn't utilized all evening so I wanted to add some elements to fill in the space when they were not there.

In the center was a column to hold her bouquet, yet allowing it to be close by. This doubled as a decoration when she was away. It definately made for a great photo oppportunity.

The gift area was simply defined by space and adding in the columns tied in the decor from the other parts of the room without overdoing it and creating another focal point. We wanted eyes on the bride.

Her cake was strategically placed and lit up from above and below. It was an intentional focal point in the room.

As guests left the room, they looked directly at the party favor table where chocolate trufles were wrapped and arranged in a linear pattern to enhance the formal style of the evening.
